Melancholia - Godmode

Since I created my show reel from home I decided to use Windows Video Editor instead of Premiere Pro, since it is easy to use and the only available software for my laptop. I started with making a list of my favourite scenes from each project that I wanted to include, and then putting them in a spaced out order. I then selected the song shown above from the YouTube Audio Library. I wanted the track to have a dramatic feel to it so that it fit the style of the clips I used. I tried my best to make the transitions between my clips happen on a key note of the song, which I think was executed fairly well. I also decided to open my video with an opening scene of a previous project, and end it on a final shot, so that the video had a sort of timeline to it, despite the clips being in a random order. I realised a little too late that the show reel was supposed to be up to 30 seconds, and if I was to recreate it I would make it shorter for convenience.

Based on the feedback that I received, if I was to re-do my video I would definitely make it shorter, so that people do not lose interest, and so that it's more of a quick demonstration of my skills. I also would experiment more with the song choice, and figure out if the video is more interesting or entertaining with a more upbeat song choice.
