Storyboard

animatic edit.png

Unfortunately, once I had finished the edit for my storyboard animatic I realised that I was unable to export it and I could not upload it to YouTube because of the software that I used. If I am able to find a more suitable editing site, I intend to recreate my animatic so that I can upload it to my YouTube portfolio.

Cast

My music video has two characters, Laura (played by Hannah Pritchard) and Jack (Played by Joshua Hayward). Since a main theme of my video is love, I wanted an actual couple to play these two characters, mostly because I wanted to capture the natural connection between the two of them, and to make sure that my two actors were comfortable following my shot list and portraying things that only couples do. Since I had already had these two actors in mind when coming up with my plan, I tried to make it so that the storyboard, costume and locations work for both Hannah and Josh.

Props & Costume

Props:

  • Blanket- for Jack and Laura to share on the beach for a cute romantic moment

  • Cigarette- a slight indication to how Laura's life is spiralling downwards (substance abuse?)

  • Sparklers- for an aesthetically pleasing beach scene at night

  • Letter- symbolises Laura's closure and letting go of certain memories

  • Fireplace- * *

  • Books- to be used in a brief scene of the couple when they were together

  • Laptop- * *

Costume:

For all of the scenes that take place in real-time, I intend to have Laura wearing all black clothing in reference to the pain that she is feeling (also potentially symbolising funeral attire?), however in all the flashback scenes I will have both of my characters wearing brighter and happier colours (e.g. pinks / yellows etc.). I am considering having Laura, in the final scene, wearing an item of clothing that Jack is previously seen wearing (possibly a hoodie), to show that she is still holding onto a part of him.
